Spring into action with Go! Oldham

Start the Spring Bank Holiday weekend with two big outdoor events to get you in the festival spirit.

Check out live bands, MCs and more at Rooted on Saturday 25 May. This new event has been created by young people and there’s loads happening outside Gallery Oldham from 12noon–4pm.

And there’s family fun with Festival Oldham on the same day. Look out for street theatre, creative crafts and a unique ballet using shopping trolleys in Oldham town centre.

There’s more exciting events across Oldham all week over half-term. Sports fans can relive last year’s summer of sport with an Olympics Holiday Camp at Saddleworth School. Or improve your football skills with Striker 9 junior football coaching at Failsworth, Oldham and Saddleworth sports centres.

Bounce into summer with trampolining at Mahdlo’s half-term holiday zone. You can also go indoor rock climbnig and get digging in the new gardening club.

Play like a princess and dress-up as a knight with Castles and Crowns activitiy sessions at Greenfield, Limeside and Royton libraries. And make your own finger puppet with three days of family arts and crafts at Gallery Oldham.

Join the Great Egg Race

Go out and explore this Easter and take part in the Great Oldham Egg Race.


Oldham Libraries have hidden lots of Golden Eggs in buildings, beauty spots, children's centres, parks and more places. Wherever you live there will be some near you!

If you are lucky enough to find one you can exchange it for a chocolate Easter egg at your local library. The person who finds the most eggs will win a special prize.

Oldham Coliseum’s new production is an innovative take on one of Charles Dickens best-loved novels.

David Copperfield’s journey takes him from childhood into manhood… from rejection by his cruel stepfather, to life as a runaway and on his path to true love.

Alastair Cording’s vibrant adaptation squeezes the best bits of the original novel into an evening of theatre capturing the brilliance of Dickens’s famous storytelling.
